CO and NO₂ Detection System – Chilliwack Firehall Garage Exhaust Upgrade

Thermacool Mechanical recently completed a carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) detection and exhaust control upgrade at a firehall in Chilliwack, BC. The project involved installing a new gas detection panel, sensors, and a visual/audible alarm system, then integrating the new equipment with the building’s existing exhaust fan controls.

This upgrade ensures that harmful vehicle exhaust fumes are automatically detected and safely removed from the apparatus bay. When CO or NO₂ levels are sensed, the system activates the exhaust fan and runs for a minimum of 15 minutes, preventing dangerous gas buildup and improving overall air quality and safety for firefighters and staff.
